Happy New Day

Hello! Friend. May I call you Friend?

Happy New Year!

Is there some particular way that you have been self sabotaging this year? WELL! YOU are not the only one!! Let us forgive our selves for past transgressions, shall we? In all honesty, let us forgive ourselves for future ones as well. We can clear away the residue of fear, self loathing and of resentment, and decide to take that one step into the great upward infinite spiral of success that is personal progress! OH YES! The time is NOW

Should we care to, Let us each look at our lives, and decide upon THAT one thing that we have been doing to sabotage our greatest joy, our vision, our success in life …and determine to do 1% better in that aspect each day. We all know that one thing we need to stop doing here and now. Guess what! At 1 percent better per day, after 100 days… that’s 100 percent better!!!!!! Then we can begin again.

In order to not be so overwhelmed by huge ‘goal setting’ and the feeling of needing to connect the dots and stuff, I thought about leaning into an idea of doing things one day at a time. What do you think?

Things we need!!

1> Digital journal or pen and paper

2>The will to document/ journal our action on it each day.

3>Patience

4>Determination

5>The will to say NO to guilt trips, shaming tactics and manipulation– as well as dismissal, discounting from others.

6>Willingness to be honest with yourself

7> A sense of humor 😉

Example: Take Sunny for example. Sunny wants to exercise for an hour a day but has severe sleep issues, is 25 lbs over weight, has foot and ankle problems as well as a shoulder problem and a brain injury and has been sedentary for years after hurting her foot.

1]She makes the aim about health so that she can do better for God, instead of about losing weight of just about the foot or shoulder, etc

2)She starts slow and is patient. She starts with 20 minutes and that is challenge enough.

3)She gets an accountability partner for the first two months or so, because she has a really difficult time getting herself ‘outside’ walking again.

4)She records daily how much she walks, and sometimes she even gives herself a gold sticker because it was hard!

5)Because her primary goal was not to lose weight, she was not focused upon that, but as the time went on, her eating habits began to change AND she began to walk more … Sunny was getting healthier. After about a year she was up to an hour, eating better and beginning to slowly slim down.

6)After three years with literally just walking and a few moderate changes to her diet, Sunny loses about 25 lbs. Friends and family are very surprised and one even slyly asks if she takes Ozempic. hahahaha

Tomorrow is a new day. What are you going to lean into being 1% percent better with tomorrow?

As I look out upon the last sunset of the year, with the fireworks beginning to pop… I am grateful for what has been, for what is and for what is to be. My heart swells with gratitude. God is great, His mercy endures forever. May you be blessed today and every day. May you prosper and be protected.

All glory to God, In Jesus Name.

With every sunrise, there is new hope! We got this! Happy New Day to You.
